inventive programming, and improvisation on period instruments to diverse audiences.
We foster a collaborative chamber music approach to orchestral playing.

Born in the Kingdom of Bohemia, both Jan Dismas Zelenka (1679-1745) and Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber (1644-1704)
were masterful baroque composers known for their daring compositional invention. In their third concert,
Vilas Baroque juxtaposes Zelenka's dramatic Lamentations of Jeremiah for Maundy Thursday and Easter Eve
with Biber's virtuosic instrumental pieces, including the monumental final solo Passacaglia from the Mystery Sonatas.
